Heiko's Diariesавгуста 12 Hangzhou with Liping (Part I)I know Hangzhou for some years and when I come back I feel very familiar. I think this city is one of the most beautiful cities in china, especially the area around the westlake. This time I go with my girlfriend Liping in February. Here is the perfect place for lovers, the scenery is very romantic, special the westlake when you come in the morning, you will see the fog between the hills, you will never forget.
The best season for Hangzhou is either in Mai or in Sept./Oct., but not in national holidays then it is too crowded. When you wanna see many spots you should stay at least 3 days but better one week then you can be more relaxed.

Many places you can walk on foot, also you can go with boat to the islands in westlake, this is a half day trip. At the lakefront you will find many hotels, restaurants and bars. When you come back from day trip you can also go to shopping street (most shops open until 9.30-10 pm), only two minutes from westlake.
